Benefits of Industrial Water Purification System
The process efficiency can be remarkably increased through industrial water filtration. In this process, we use the recycling and reusing of water from Waste streams and make it used for drinking and other purposes.
Reduced maintenance costs
Industrial filtration is on an industrial scale and has a long service life. It is beneficial in removing the harmful contaminants from the water. For this purpose, you must purchase equipment that reduces maintenance costs.
Low energy cost
Now you can easily save money on energy costs using the new filtration systems. Many industries use different processes for the use of wastewater with the help of local water treatment facilities. However, companies are struggling a lot to explore different ways of filtering water.
Industrial Water Filter Types
What factors to Consider before purchasing an Industrial water Filter Machine?
Level of contamination
You must check the level of contamination of your water. The reason is that if there is a high amount of solid impurities, then you have to use the pre-filters. Also, you will have to do frequent cleaning and replacement of filters if your water is heavily polluted.
Types of filtration
There are many types of filtration processes from which you can choose according to your choice and convenience.
- Many filtration systems require continuous filtration.
- Many application systems continuously move the work unit without a break. These systems are also included in continuous filtration.
- In some filtration processes, you need the given amount of water at a time to be filtered. These are called batch applications. Keep this thing in mind that you can use simple filters in batch filtration processes.
Quality standards for filtration
The quality of the water is very much important that you get after the filtration process. Also, it’s quality will determine the types of filters you need for your operation.
Keep this thing in mind that if you want filtered water for human consumption, then your filter must have the ability to eradicate heavy metals, pathogenic bacteria, and other hazardous products.
Operation conditions and requirements of your process
Keep in mind all the operational requirements that match your filters. You must be aware of the pressure-flow rate and temperature of your filtration process.
Keep in mind that every screen has maximum operating temperature and pressure as well as flow rates. So you must go for the high-pressure filtration system because low flow rates will tremendously slow down your operations. Along with the low pressure, the low working temperature will also break down and shut down the process.
Nature and characteristics of the contaminants
While using any filtration system, you must be aware of the nature and characteristics of the contaminants present in the water. For this purpose, you should know about the size and type of the impurities you need to filter out. There is a massive difference between solid and liquid contaminants. The main focus is on determining the pollutants that are harmful to your health. For this purpose, you must need specialized support equipment and installation to ensure the protection of human health.
The operation cost of filters
Before purchasing any type of water filtration system, you must enquire the initial cost of the screen as well as other operational expenses. Other expenses include replacement and installation costs. Along with it, you must also consider the downtime cost and waste disposal cost.

The materials you choose for water filtration systems must be resistant to rust and have the ability to withstand the harsh working conditions. This is the main reason industrial filter housings are made up of stainless steel or plastic material to withstand high pressure.
You can select any of the following materials for the manufacturing of top quality filter elements.
- Multimedia sand
Multimedia sand is usually filtered using three layers of media: anthracite, sand and garnet. Because of their obvious differences in density, these media are often chosen for multi-media filters. Anthracite is the lightest filter medium per unit volume, followed by sand, and then garnet.
The idea of using media of different quality is that during the backwashing process, the lightest media with the largest particles (anthracite) will naturally layer on the top of the filter, while the medium-sized media (sand) will settle in the middle and the heaviest The smallest particles of the medium (garnet) will settle to the bottom.
Multimedia sands are arranged in order of decreasing pores. Due to the multi-layer design, the multimedia water filter can capture and retain much larger particles than traditional sand filters before backwashing is required. The filtration process produces high-quality filtered water with a flow rate much faster than traditional sand filtration.
- Metal woven mesh filter cartridge
The media of this type of filter cartridge is woven by metal wires on the loom, which can form a very stable but flexible filter media. The material can be made of wires of different thicknesses or woven into different patterns according to specific applications.
Woven wire mesh can provide fine filtration in environments that other fine filters cannot withstand. The specifications of the woven wire mesh can meet the requirements of low micron level performance in applications involving high pressure, high temperature, or corrosive chemicals.
- Wedge wire sieve filters
The wedge-shaped steel wire screen cylinder can be designed with slots and radially extending wires on the outer surface of the screen cylinder (upper), or it can be located axially on the inner side of the screen cylinder (lower).
Each intersection of the wedge wire and the support rod is welded to improve strength and durability. Various combinations of wedge wires and support rods can be used to produce the best screen design. Easy-to-clean surface filtration-The smooth filter surface can be easily and thoroughly cleaned whether it is through physical filter cake removal or backwashing.
Each disc is covered with small grooves or protrusions, and there is a hole in the middle of the disc (or ring). Stack the plastic rings together to form a cylindrical filter element.
During the filtration process, the rings are compressed together, effectively filtering the water and protecting the system from clogging. The water passes through the small channel between them, and the impurities are trapped inside. It can be used as a standalone unit or combined to form a modular filter device.
As I also discussed earlier, you have to pay more for reverse osmosis filters as compared to other types of filters. The cost is different for different industrial water filters.
There are many factors which increases the life of industrial filters. These factors are the intensity of use, type of filter, and level of water contamination. The usual filter usually takes about 2-3 months under regular operation while other filters take less than one month. Keep in mind that you are following the manufacturer's recommendations to avoid using the filter cartridge, which is clogged.
With the help of backwashing with pressurized water or air, you can clean your industrial water filters.
So if the water is highly contaminated such as a river or underground water, then it takes 2-3 days to clean the filter. But if the water is cleaned, then you can clean it after 2-3 weeks. In some filters systems, there is an automatic backwash system which automatically cleans the filters when it is clogged.
There are many ways with which you can maintain.
The maintenance is very crucial for the industrial water filters to get adequate filtration as well as long-term service.
To avoid being shut down, you must take care of cleaning and replacing your filter elements according to the manufacturer's instructions.
• Schedule regular inspections of internal screen components
• Schedule regular inspections of the electronic control system
• Arrange to regularly add grease to the bolts and seal components
• Regularly check whether there is paint peeling off part of the filter housing.
Many industrial water filter screens need to be replaced within 18 months. Usually depends on the degree of pollution and frequency of use. Therefore, these factors will determine the service life of commercial water filters.
